Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva set to headline October event

Rumors began to swirl on Monday that a boxing match between Jake Paul and former UFC champion Anderson Silva was in the works. On Tuesday, it appears that fight is a done deal.

The booking was first announced by NoSmokeBoxing and later confirmed by several sources, including TMZ Sports. The two are expected to headline a Showtime Sports pay-per-view on October 29.

Paul was scheduled to box Tommy Fury and then Hasim Rahman Jr. in early August, but both bouts fell through. Paul is 5-0 in his boxing career with wins over former UFC fights Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

Silva transitioned to boxing after retiring from mixed martial arts. He defeated Julio César Chávez Jr. by decision in June 2021, and is coming off a knockout win over fellow former UFC champion Tito Ortiz.
