Conor McGregor was paying close attention to Michael Chandler‘s appearance at UFC 309 this past weekend.
The Irishman has been away from competition for several years following his shocking injury last time out. His scheduled return took a hit and it may now be at while before we get to see ‘The Notorious’ compete again.
In recent times, a rivalry has been building between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
After watching Chandler battle to a defeat in his five-round war with Charles Oliveira, McGregor was quick to air his thoughts online.
“Cut Michael Chandler,” McGregor joked in the aftermath of UFC 309. “Just kidding, good fight.”
“[He’s a] mad little fellow is Michael. I like [him].”

Conor McGregor’s comments came after Michael Chandler reignited their feud.
Despite comfortably losing on the judges scorecards, Chandler put on a show for the viewers—as he often does.
The former Bellator star rallied back in the final round and almost finished Charles Oliveira after a tough opening four rounds.

After the loss, Chandler spoke to Joe Rogan and took his chance to once again call for a meeting with Conor McGregor.
“I was supposed to show up tonight, do my job, and win the fight,” Chandler said. “Forget calling out Islam [Makhachev], Charles is doing that next.”
“Maybe Max Holloway for the BMF belt. Or, Conor McGregor, if you can ever get your house back in order, well us real professionals have been keeping the octagon warm.”
“We’re wondering where you’ve been, Conor. Come back and beat me, if you can.”
While Michael Chandler vs. Conor McGregor would still be a huge fight, Chandler will be 39 years old by the time the Dublin native returns.
According to Dana White, despite many believing it could be sooner, McGregor won’t return to the octagon until at least late 2025.
