Conor McGregor and Jake Paul trade shots over sexual assault verdict

On Friday, November 22, Conor McGregor lost his case in court and was found guilty of sexual assault, prompting a response from Jake Paul.

The two controversial combat sports stars have been feuding online for several years. ‘The Problem Child’ would love to settle their differences in the boxing ring, but their height and weight differences may prevent that.

While a meeting in the squared circle may never come to fruition between the two, that hasn’t stopped Conor McGregor and Jake Paul going at it on social media.

After being found guilty of sexually assaulting Nikita Hand, the public was quick to lash out at McGregor—Paul being one of those in question.

“Dana [White] hits his wife, Conor’s convicted of rape, but I’m the bad guy?” Paul said in a post referencing the sexual assault case against McGregor.

Despite insisting his time would now be spent with his family until his formal appeal against the civil court’s decision was resolved, the Irishman was quick to respond.

In a now-deleted post, Conor McGregor perhaps made matters worse when he labeled Jake Paul a derogatory term.

“No, you’re a little gay nerd,” McGregor said.

This isn’t the first time the two have traded barbs in the past week. After beating Mike Tyson last Friday, Jake Paul called out several fighters who he’d like to lock horns with next.

Continuing his surge in boxing is his priority, but Paul would venture into the sport of mixed martial arts should the right opponent come along.

The 27-year-old believes that opponent to be Conor McGregor. The Ohio native hinted at an open-weight affair against McGregor, which he would love to see take place in the PFL SmartCage.

Jake Paul is partnered with the Professional Fighters League and has teased an MMA fight in the past. While fans would undoubtedly be intrigued, McGregor’s ongoing legal issue along with his UFC contract prevents him from competing for the time being.
