While he is known for his brash nature, Sean Strickland has a heart, as he has displayed on several occasions, but it’s not his heart that his girlfriend is worried about.
Strickland’s partner has shared her concern at the possibility of her boyfriend acquiring CTE.
Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a serious issue for those who take continuous damage to the head, often leading to aggression. There have been many cases of the brain disease corrupting an individual’s mind before they commit life-changing crimes, and combat sports is one place the illness could be prevalent.
Because of this, Sean Strickland’s girlfriend has developed a major fear that one day, the UFC star will wake up and decide to murder her.
Strickland revealed it all on social media.
“She’s concerned that one day I might wake up with CTE and shoot her,” Strickland said. “It’s not valid. It’s not f***ing valid.”
“So, you truly believe that one day, I could wake up because of brain trauma and murder you? Are you f***ing kidding me? You are f***ing r*****ed.”
Strickland began teasing his girlfriend for her comment, leaning into the joke of one day murdering her.
“Babe, do you have a specific caliber you’d like to be off’d with? Make it quick, you guys.”
“One day, when I wake up with CTE, I’ll have to make it real quick.”

Sean Strickland’s last outing saw him lose his chance at reclaiming his UFC title in a unanimous decision defeat to Dricus Du Plessis.
The loss caused a rift between Strickland and his coach, Eric Nicksick, after post-fight comments didn’t go down well with the middleweight contender.
Despite losing two of his last three bouts, the 34-year-old still finds himself ranked 2nd in the rankings and still within touching distance of a future title opportunity.
