It seems that Conor McGregor‘s future in combat sports continues to change, as many contradictory reports have surfaced over the past few months.
‘The Notorious’ hasn’t found success inside the octagon in half a decade, with his most recent win coming against Donald Cerrone in 2020. Despite his bad run of form and inactivity, the Irishman is determined to make a UFC return and has his sights set on several contenders.
If he ever makes the walk to the octagon again, Conor McGregor would undoubtedly have no trouble finding an opponent. The lightweight division is stacked full of killers, and many would make for exciting matchups against the former two-division UFC champion.
While there are a handful of names that the promotion could match him up against, McGregor has his own idea of who he’d like to face next.
In a post on social media, Conor McGregor teased his comeback with a short video of him drilling the same right hook to the body, left straight combination.
Not only did McGregor hint at his return, but he also revealed that his sight is set on the UFC 314 co-main event bout between Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett.

Conor McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last year but was forced to withdraw from the clash due to an injury.
Chandler has since suffered defeat at the hands of Charles Oliveira and now wishes to bounce back when he faces the rising star Paddy Pimblett on April 12.
McGregor is fast approaching four years away from the octagon, and there is no return date in sight for the fan-favorite.
If he gets his wish, the Dublin native will fight the winner of Chandler and Pimblett later this year, though fans don’t believe we’ll ever see McGregor compete again.
