Terrible news has rocked the mixed martial arts world with the death of Marvin Vettori‘s younger brother.
News broke on Tuesday confirming that Patrick Vettori, the younger brother of the former UFC title challenger, lost his life in a house fire. At just 30 years old, Patrick’s life was taken, a loss his brother Marvin Vettori publicly mourned.
In a heartfelt statement on social media, the Italian mixed martial artist let the emotion pour out as he grieved his brother’s death.
“You were and always will be number 1, my little brother!” Vettori said in an Instagram post. “You left a void that cannot be filled, I will love you until my last breath.”
“I don’t think I’ll be the same after today because maybe I never told you, but you’ve always been my strength. You were the smartest and smarted of the 2.”
“You were creating a wonderful future for yourself and I can’t get over it.”
Vettori continued.
“It is said that Jesus calls back the most beautiful souls prematurely to take them to heaven with him, and then I hope that you are there with him, looking and watching over us with that goodness that has always set you apart.”
“I love you, my brother, and even though it won’t be easy to continue a life without you, it comforts me to know that one day I will be buried next to you. I love you.”

Marvin Vettori has competed just once inside the octagon in almost two years.
Several obstacles have prevented ‘The Italian Dream’ from finding the form that initially led him to a title shot back in 2021. Following the devastating death of his brother, it is unclear where Vettori goes from here.
