Following his defeat on Saturday night, Cody Garbrandt was targeted by Sean O’Malley, reigniting their feud stemming from 2020.
‘No Love’ has endured a rough time since losing the UFC bantamweight title against former teammate TJ Dillashaw eight years ago. The 33-year-old has fallen to defeat 7 times in his last 10 outings, and his loss just days ago sparked a war of words with a long-term rival.
Ahead of his fight against Raoni Barcelos, Cody Garbrandt had words for Sean O’Malley.
“He should have kept smoking because he looked like sh*t,” Garbrandt said referencing O’Malley’s defeat at UFC 316. “But, yeah, whatever he had to do.”
“Sometimes you lose and you try to reinvent yourself and find yourself, and at the end of the day, man, you know who you are. You know what you gotta do…”
“That’s a fight that [I’m interested in]. I think that’s a huge pay-per-view sale fight Sean and I.”

It didn’t take long for Sean O’Malley to mock Cody Garbrandt for his unanimous decision loss on Saturday.
Shortly after Raoni Barcelos had his hand raised, O’Malley took shots at Garbrandt, though they were directed at Garbrandt’s appearance rather than his performance.
“I saw Cody Garbrandt saying I looked like sh*t against Merab, that dude looked sharp last fight, that’s all I’ll say.”
“What was annoying is when I saw his hair was braided and he’s got those face tattoos, I was like, ‘F***, that’s how people see me.’ And it was just so embarrassing.”
“Oh god, I need to f***ing get a new look. That was embarrassing, holy sh*t. That was an eye-opener. Goddamnit, that’s how people probably look at me. That’s embarrassing.”
