UFC legend B.J. Penn has displayed some worrisome behavior in recent months. He’s been arrested several times and faced charges ranging from “abuse of a family or household member” on two separate occasions, failure to appear, and violating a restraining order. “The Prodigy” is due back in court next month and plans to defend himself.
Several months ago, Penn began making posts on social media alleging that his family had been murdered and replaced by imposters trying to steal his assets. On Monday, Penn claimed that his mother was replaced 15 years ago, both of his daughters had been replaced, his brother JD had been poisoned and there are tunnels under everyone’s houses used by the alleged murderers.
“They took my mother out when she worked at the Department of agriculture 15 years ago, then they took out my dad I don’t know when exactly and then first kid out (Aeva) when she was just a brand new born baby they replaced Aeva with another baby in a disguise, and then the second baby Kulia is not even mine she’s just in a disguise that looks like me. Then they poisoned Jd and his whole family and then they took by the time I noticed what was going on. It was just me, and I realized that they use the trees and they use tunnels. They have tunnels everywhere under everybody’s house but you piece of sh*t, murdering theives don’t ever forget when you f**k with me, you f**k with the best! Wherever you wanna take it, I will beat you in every single f**king area.”

Penn’s mother, Lorraine Shin, recently filed for and was granted a retraining order against her 46 year-old son. In the filing she stated her believe that Penn was suffering from a conditioned called Capgras delusional syndrome.
“I believe my son [B.J. Penn] is suffering from Capgras delusional syndrome (a psychiatric disorder in which a person holds a delusion that a friend, spouse, parent, other close family member has been replaced by an identical imposter). He believes I’m an imposter who has killed his family to gain control of the family assets,” she wrote in filing.
Penn once held the UFC lightweight and welterweight titles. He was inducted in the UFC Hall of Fame in 2015. He last fought in May 2019. In the years since, Penn has had several brushes with law enforcement. In January 2021, Penn was arrested under suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. In June 2019, video emerged of Penn fighting a bouncer after being thrown out of a bar. Two months later, Penn was involved in another bar fight caught on video. In January 2015, Penn was arrest after an altercation at a Maui hotel.
