Heavyweight champion Jon Jones puts his title on the line for the first time on Saturday in the UFC 309 main event against former two-time titleholder Stipe Miocic. Interim champion Tom Aspinall will be watching, but Jones has no intentions of doing business with the Englishman.
Aspinall has lobbied for a fight against Jones since winning the interim championship last November. Jones recently stated that Aspinall isn’t a fight he’s interested in but proposed a potential match against light heavyweight titleholder Alex Pereira. Since making the comments, Jones has been accused of ducking Aspinall.
During the UFC 309 Media Day on Wednesday, Jones addressed Aspinall and his fans. He also explained why he won’t fight the interim champion.
