Dana White turns to Mark Zuckerberg and AI to help fix major UFC issue

Dana White has been vocal whenever he sees something he disagrees with in a sport he significantly helped build, and his recent comments were no different.

At UFC 309 on Saturday night, Jon Jones successfully defended his heavyweight strap in dominant fashion. He delivered a one-sided display against former champion Stipe Miocic and further cemented his legacy as the greatest to ever do it.

Despite the performance, Jones only managed to capture the second spot in the UFC pound-for-pound list—with Islam Makhachev holding his position atop the rankings.

As expected, this didn’t sit right with Dana White who lashed out on social media once the ranking update went live.

White has been defending Jon Jones’ legacy for several years, insisting that not only is ‘Bones’ the pound-for-pound best in the world, but he is also the greatest fighter to ever walk the face of the earth.

Throughout his career, Jones has etched himself as one of the all-time greats in combat sports.

Dana White believes the heavyweight champion should be given his flowers and made his thoughts known online.

“I have to get rid of these CLOWNS!” White said in the aftermath of UFC 309. “[Mark Zuckerberg] let’s get this AI deal done ASAP!”

Related: Dana White wants AI to fix below par UFC fighter rankings

Dana White has hinted at the use of AI to fix an ongoing problem with fighter rankings.

Fighters being ranked behind opponents they recently beat, competitors not advancing through the rankings after impressive performances, and killers on respectable win-streaks not even cracking the top 15 are just some of the problems that persists with the rankings system.

White hopes a deal can be struck to rid the sport of the apparent clueless people in charge of the rankings in favor of a new AI system.

If the UFC CEO gets his wish, it’s hard to imagine just how he’ll feel if the artificial intelligence model also snubs Jon Jones of the #1 spot.
