Mike Tyson and Jake Paul handed boxing suspensions

The bad news continues to pile up for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, as they have now been handed suspensions from boxing.

Despite being the curtain-closers of a record-breaking event, Paul and Tyson have been subject to much backlash. The pair have come under scrutiny from fans for their lackluster fight last week, and they’ve now received another setback.

Following their fight, both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have been suspended and will be unable to compete in the sport for almost a month.

The fight took place infront of an eye-watering 70,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Unfortunately for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, the bout was sanctioned under Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations rules—a department which states each fighter will be suspended for three days for each round they fought.

While both men promised a knockout, the meeting between the two closely resembled a light sparring session. No power punches were landed and the fight trickled its way to the judges scorecards.

Having fought for eight rounds, this means both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are now suspended for 24 days.

If either fighter wants to compete before their medical suspension comes to an end, they are able to appeal in a hearing with the aforementioned Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.

The news may not be too big of a deal as boxers often take months or sometimes years between fights, but Paul is keen on keeping his momentum surging.

Having barely received any damage in the fight, the 27-year-old could potentially be on his way back to the ring.

Dreaming of one day becoming a boxing world champion, Jake Paul has the chance to fulfill his goals in the very near future.

In the days proceeding his win over Mike Tyson, Paul was called out by several boxing champions—with UK powerhouse Daniel Dubois being the latest.
