Featherweight Bryce Mitchell (17-2) will enter his UFC 314 main card about against Jean Silva (15-2) coming off a knockout win over Kron Gracie in his last outing.
UFC 314 will be the first time Mitchell, who used to be a fan favorite, will compete since making eyebrow raising remarks about Adolf Hitler. While Silva is not ranked, he’s riding an impressive 12-fight winning streak and hasn’t lost a fight since April 2018. “Thug Nasty” considers the match to be the ‘biggest fight of his life.’
“I know this is the biggest fight of my life. You know it. Everybody watching knows it. And that’s just God’s plan,” Mitchell said during the UFC 314 Media Day.
“I couldn’t have made this fight any bigger if I had tried myself. This is the spirit leading me into this. There’s nothing that I could have done to sell this fight. God put this fight together and God for me is to be up here and perform.”
The smack talk leading up to the eventual fight has been different. Most of it has centered around beliefs. Silva brought a globe to the first UFC 314 Press Conference attacking Mitchell’s outspoken belief that the Earth is flat. During the UFC 314 Media on Wednesday, Mitchell questioned Silva’s Christianity.

“He says that he loves Jesus but he calls himself lord, and he doesn’t act like he loves Jesus. He doesn’t treat me with respect, so I go off of that. Based on my interactions with him, he does not have Jesus in his heart because he treats me like total sh*t.” Mitchell said.
“I’m not afraid to say that to his face. If you love Jesus then treat people with respect. And that’s not what he does. Jesus says two commandments: to love your Lord, your God with all your heart and love our neighbor as yourself. Does he treat me as he treats himself?”
Bryce Mitchell urges people to ‘bet the farm’ on him
Mitchell will enter Saturday’s showdown with Silva as the betting underdog. He thinks the oddsmakers have gotten it wrong but sees an opportunity for his friends and fans to cash in.
“I think this is a great time for all my friends to bet and make a tremendous amount of money off of me. So go ahead, bet the farm. This is the best odds I’ve had in a long time. If you’re a betting man, cast your bet,” said Mitchell.
“I don’t underestimate this man. I know this is going to be a fight and I’m prepared to go in there and do whatever I have to do to win.”
