Despite relinquishing his UFC title and announcing his retirement from the sport just two weeks ago, Jon Jones has today backtracked on that decision.
As champion of the heavyweight division, ‘Bones’ left many fans in limbo as he refused to provide answers in a weight class that posed many questions. His intentions became clear when he hung up the gloves, subsequently handing the undisputed status to Tom Aspinall, though his plans have seemingly changed.
Jon Jones loves to stir up controversy online, and that may be the case once again. However, if Jones is being sincere, a return to the octagon could present itself.
“Just re-entered the testing pool,” Jones claimed in a viral post on X. “That [retirement] lasted for about two weeks.”
“Figured we’d keep everyone’s options open.”

Since Jon Jones retired, the UFC was quick to announce Tom Aspinall as the new undisputed heavyweight king, though no fight has been made official for the titleholder.
At 38 years old, achieving everything he has done, and being considered one of the greatest to ever step foot into the octagon, what else is left for Jones to return for?
The New Mexico native may want to add a new feather to his cap after the recent groundbreaking news regarding an upcoming show.
As confirmed by President Donald Trump, the White House will host the UFC next year, with a championship fight likely headlining the one-off event.

After hearing the news, many high-caliber UFC stars threw their names into the hat to feature. One of those fighters hinting at a possible appearance at the show was Jon Jones.
“Fighting at the White House?” Jones said at the intriguing proposition of competing at the residence of the United States president.
No further updates have been released on the event, but a Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall, US vs. UK headliner will be one of the biggest possible fights the UFC can make.
