Former middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa snapped a two-fight losing streak with an impressive unanimous decision win over Roman Kopylov in the UFC 318 co-main event last Saturday.
During his UFC 318 post-fight interview, Costa went after undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.
“Everybody knows that I hate that guy. Everybody knows who. That motherf***er Khamzat Chimaev. He’s a big a**hole,” Costa said to the crowd inside Smoothie King Center. “Chimaev, you are a coward. And I’m here and I’m going to look for you. I’m going to chase for you, and I will not stop until I get to you.”
He continued his attacks on “Borz” during an interview with Submission radio on Wednesday.
“Khamzat, he’s a coward. He’s a c*nt. He’s a c*nt. He has no courage to ever, ever, ever, never, send a message for me,” Costa said. “He will never talk to me directly. He will never look me in the eyes because he’s a coward. People need to understand that. Or he so f**king fear my presence. I know that since the very first moment that I met him.”
Costa and Chimaev regularly trade jabs on social media but things got personal when Costa accused the Chechen of sending his wife private messages.

“My wife is over here. He DM’d her. This is not good. This is a bad thing in every culture. He said bad things about me, about her, but he never sent to me because he’s a coward,” Costa said following his UFC 318 win.
A fight between the two would be a grudge match, but their careers are in different places at the moment. Costa is currently ranked No. 11 in the middleweight division. Chimaev is ranked No. 3 and is scheduled to fight for the championship against titleholder Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 319 on Aug. 16 at the United Center in Chicago.
